Brutal Memory Leaks in editor, even when not playing?

We are experiencing a massive memory leak issue – it frequently crashes both of our development PCs and seems to be at least partly particle related. Right before the comps go down they get an Assertion Failed in console, and the following crash usually requires a damaging hard reset. It happens in editor when viewing particle effects, and under other circumstances we can’t nail down, even when the game is not running. We have a hard time getting the whole console log because the systems crashes seconds after the errors appear. Builds of the game work perfectly fine. We can’t work on our project for more than 20 minutes at a time, if not less, and when at full clip, you can watch Unity eat up 100+ megs of memory a second in the task manager.

Please get this fixed asap. This is absolutely ridiculous that this type of error made it out the door in core release. Anyone know what the source might be so we can excise part of our project and continue working? Once again, Unity has this issue on both comps when just sitting in the editor in-scene, nothing playing, and builds work fine. No special editor code on our end other than simple inspector manipulation.

I’ve been seeing this too, mostly with the sprite editor and animation windows, but you’re barking up the wrong tree unfortunately. Unity employees have almost no presence on this site… it’s just community helpers. You’ll need to contact them, such as through here.
