Code generated RT textures have weird results

I am creating rt textures for my scopes on my guns, the only problem is when i do this, it seems that the resolution scales to 1:2 ratio, in other words, everything looks taller than it is, my plane is square and the camera is 1:1, ive tryed making it 1:2 but it still yeilds the same results.

I just loaded up the scene where I did this and tried to stretch the quad to see how it would display. The image was distorted, I fixed this by changing the Render Texture Dimensions in its Settings(highlight it in the project folder then look at the pic below for what you should see in the inspector window). Adjust the “Size” properties until your output looks correct.
