Which would be the best approach in developing my boardgame?

Hello Unimmunity,

I am a Computer Science student and i would like to develop a math game as my dissertation. I already have a basic desing of the game. My idea is to make a boardgame like risk but without armies. In order to conquer territories you would have to answer correctly a math question.

I am a complete Unity noob, i even dont know if this is the correct place or way to ask. I have been reading some tutorials and trying to get started with making the board. I looked into hex grids, but i don’t know if that would be a good approach. Could someone give me any advice on the matter?

Thanks in advance.

Design/discussion questions should be posted to Unity Forums. Unity Answers addresses single, specific technical questions. But if you post there, consider spending some time to flush out your criteria and perhaps create a image before posting. Without concerte information about your design, it is really hard to give an accurate answer to questions like, “I looked into hex grids, but i don’t know if that would be a good approach.” As you break your project down to single, specific issues, Unity Answers will be a good place to post.
