Try this website. I always use this site for creating simple sounds like shooting, pick up etc.

I've dealt with Sound Rangers in the past for stock audio. They're reasonably priced, have a no-nonsense license, and a good selection of sounds.

I have been a fan of FlashKit for a few now. Great resource for sound effects and loopable sound bites.

There is also this Audio Search engine I use called "Find Sounds"... its good when you are looking for something specific....
