How do I keep separate meshes for a character when I import it into Unity?

So I’ve modeled a character in Maya and I am ready to import it into Unity. The problem is, in Maya I have different parts of the clothing/character as different mesh groups, each with their own normal and texture maps, and when I import into Unity it combines it all into a single mesh. Is there a way to keep them all separate, or am I restricted to importing as a single mesh and have to completely redo my normals and textures for a single mesh rather than multiple? I did a bit of searching, but I couldn’t quite find exactly what I was looking for. Not sure if I was just not wording it right or what haha. Thanks!

It’s possible. The model is imported and looks like it was only one mesh but there you can expand it and see all meshs part by part and is there that you can put the textures.
The model in unity project view should have some arrow that you can expand.
I think is that what you want, but it could be some property in maya for combine the meshes, but i don’t think so.
