is it possible to make the player unable to move at more than 1 axis at a time?
my imagination is :

Input.acceleration.y = 0;

On your other question you asked how to move... If you did the GUI system of W A S D, you can make the player move 1 unit per a button click.... And then have rotation move by a finger slide...
