I know this question may have been asked before, but I would like more information about the issue. Is this recommended? Or you are better off using C# with asp.NET?

Yes, you can create facebook games with Unity. Users will still need to install the Unity plugin in order to play your game -- this is somewhat of a barrier to entry, and so you may get fewer people playing your game than if it were, say, Flash-based.
The dimeRocker Arcade, for example, provides an easy-to-use mechanism for deploying Unity games to facebook.
Up to 2 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 524.3 kB each and 1.0 MB total.
