this error 10's of times in editor...? "NullReferenceException:..."

everything seems to be working right, although Unity is hanging more often than it used to... but what is this error. Keeps coming up everytime I change a setting in the editor. Even though the changes seem to happen fine.

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object UnityEditor.TooltipView.Close () UnityEditor.EditorGUI.HideTooltip (Single percent)

what script does it say the error is on?

it doesn't. That's the entire error.

btw it's a scene layout I'm doing. There's no script in the scene. There are other scripts in other scenes in the same project. But not in the scene generating the error. Error comes up when I resize a collider. But also at other times, like resizing an object.

great, ignore it. that's what I've been doing. but it still pisses me off. What does it mean? why does it happen? is something wrong with my project or something wrong with Unity? Considering the diverse range of things that make it happen, I'd say Unity at's fault. But I'm a kook. so it could be me.
