FBX Importer subobject settings

I have an asset imported from 3dsmax. It contains several individual meshes. When I select an individual mesh and change its settings it affects all the other meshes in this asset. How to apply separate fbx settings to individual meshes? I hope someone will know and be willing to share... Thanks in advance, Tomek

You can't do that. You'll have to separate those objects from the FBX file if you need different import settings.

In fact I have both octagonal and round shaped meshes in the same file. I wanted to get round shapes smooth and octagonal ones sharp. To achieve that I need to set separate smoothing angles under lightmap UVW. I found that in order to keep the prefab reference I can duplicate this asset and disable some objects in "original" and then disable the rest in duplicate. tomekkie 0 secs ago
