Technically yes. practically it highly depends on the information cause apple will not allow you to overdo it and has no problem rejecting apps for collection if data you aren't meant to collect or collecting it without informing the user.

can you give a few snippets of how you would send device info from within unity? this would serve as a means of not having to use a login username, for example -- i.e., identify by user's device

Thats pretty hated, cause then users will have XXX accounts in the end as they can use it on all their devices. A login is the far better way of handling it - if you use GameCenter or OpenFeint you log them into a system anyway for example and you likely won't need additional functionality OF doesn't offer (couldn't think of anything you would want to collect for a feature OF does not have out of the box)
