I have followed through the tutorial, and I can't seem to get the game to work. I think it may be and error with cameras or level attributes. But what happens is, I click play and I only see part of one of the platforms. Then I click on the menu option player and I don't see him, he isn't there when the game loads either. The only thing that does happen is when I click player then spaceship on the side menu I zoom in and out, and thats it. Not entirely sure how to correct it to see more. I played around with camera settings and the level attributes to try to fix the problem but nothing seems to work.

If you are running the same version (near enough) of Unity - and followed the tutorial exactly, then it will work. It sounds like you may have not dragged particular objects in the Inspector for specific current game objects.
In other words, re-read the instructions from the last point where your project was working, carefully double-checking each step. Don't get discouraged; you are learning not just how to do certain things in Unity, but also how to troubleshoot your projects when things don't work the first time.
Its the many wonders of debugging :-)
