fbx export best settings

Hai, Im from indonesia and new user in Unity3d, I use 3ds mas for modeling object, i put chrome pro material in the object, but when i export to fbx file and open/import in unity, the material become flat/matte. and i already use light, can you guys help me the best setting export to unity, so material in the 3ds max and in the unity look great? please tell me, i need this for my office job. thx.

I could be very wrong about this, but Im pretty sure 3ds max textures can only be used in 3ds max. If youre referring to the mental ray chrome material in max, that is. If not, then I don’t think I quite understand what you mean, but you could always save the max file to the asset folder in your unity folder. I dont think that will make a difference though, but always worth a try.

I mean, I want to get the chrome effect in unity, and I use 3d models from 3ds max, how do chromenya effect can be seen. while in 3ds max is obvious. I’ve been using for rendering mental ray. I am curious which one, if any of its settings? Can you give me best setting to notify FBX export? so I can get what I want. thx

Any material, shader that is inside maya will not work in unity. you have to write a shader, download a shader, design a shader in shader forge or amplify shader, etc. A chrome effect is an effect which in turn is a shader. best to google chrome shader for unity or something like that.
