How to Make Things Dark

Hello All! i am wondering if it was at all possible to make things "darker" in unity. i have a level that is a old shanty town, its supposed to be around 11:00 to 12:00 o'clock at night on the level. and as much light as i dont have... its not really dark.

you could adjust your fog settings in your render settings also. the color, density, and if there should be fog.

Hey there,

There's a couple of ways to make things darker.

  1. Turn the lights down in the scene.
  2. Like Eric suggested, drop the ambient light level in the scene. I'm a big fan of "11"
  3. Make sure there's no colors baked into your scene. ([your Unity Installation]/Documentation/Documentation/Manual/Lightmapping.html)
  4. Drop the ambient values in your materials.

Does that help any?
