i downloaded unity 2,6 first,and that was working perfectly but when i wanted to update it with unity 3,1 it gave me the error: the application can not start properly (0x000007b). Click OK to close the application, when i tried to open it is there anything to fix this with?

Send a message over to Unity and they might have a fix... Also, try again later on when another beta version comes out... Good luck!

Go through the list in the top answer: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/23103/why-does-unity-3-0-fail-to-start-on-windows make sure you pay attention to updating windows (in particular .NET) and DEP
