I am curious if there if there is a way for a player (in third perons perspective) to bring up a menu during gameplay and use the mouse button to select abilities similiar to that found within the game Mass Effect. Yes, all that can be done. It's not exactly trivial, but it can all be done. (I haven't used it myself, but I'd suggest taking a look at EZGUI - from what I've seen of it, it seems like it might be well suited for something like this.) Yeah EZGUI / Sprite Manager 2 could do that and probably get it one in one draw call.
