I was wondering if anyone here knows where to find a either a 3D artist or a reliable site to locate freelance artists for to create/rig for the Unity game I'm producing.

This might be the obvious one, but have you tried the Collaboration section in the Unity forums? You'll probably get more hits specific to what you're looking for on there than on Unity Answers

The jobs page I see on this site seem to be for companies looking for an artist, I don't see any freelance areas.

Quote from http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=319&t=911631: "The CGJobs forum offers a place for employers to advertise positions for free." Which is what you are asking right now.
