(Unity Crash) While attempting to launch the engine (free), the program will appear in task manager then disapear shortly after.

I'm using the most recent version 3.5, on a WIN7 computer, 8GB of ram. Is the reason for the launch fail due to any system shortcomings?

Has this always happened with this version or is this a recent change?

This has always happened, at least to me this is my first time using unity. I had started just before 3.5 was released, assuming that was just a few days ago. Do you know anything about my issue with unity?

I'm not aware of any official problem though I have heard people are having crashing/freezing issues with Unity 3.5. Perhaps if you were able to attain and older version of unity your issues might be resolved. Again, I got this through "the grape-vine" so I can't verify if it's valid.

Grape vine? I assume its a "legit" version? But I'll try a older version (if I can find one), if you can find a link to an older one then please, do send me the link!

I'm running the same version on Windows 7 64-bit and 4GB of ram, so your computer should be adequate to run it.

So is it the Unity editor that is crashing or the game engine?

The editor doesn't launch, as said above I can see that my computer "tries" to launch it (in task manager), but it closes its self soon afterword. I was hoping to use this asap after a friend referred it to me.

I'm not sure you can call it a crash if it doesn't start in the first place...
