Hi, I am facing this very annoying problem with my iPad updated to iOS 5.1.1. I have successfully build the Unity application with Unity 3.5.2 on my iPad and I can only hear music when I plugged in the earphones. There is no sound coming from the speakers despite me trying everything I know in the Settings page or upping the volume to max. Does anyone know what is going on? Is this a Unity 3.5 bug and how can I fix it?
Additional information: My application has only one Audio Listener component added to the Main Camera object. The Audio Source component is also added to the Main Camera object with the properties set as shown in the following image:
The clip is added at runtime which is not shown in the clip. I have tested this on both PC and Android and everything is working fine except for iPad without earphones. Hope someone out there can give me a clue on how to solve this problem? I have been on it for days without any solutions.
same problem did you solved?
The given answer is correct. It was iPad's quirky configuration menu that confused me. It has several levels of audio control where normal video playback is automatically unmuted but not for games app.
Im having the same problem for my iphone 5s. Audio plays on the PC/MAC just fine. Send it to my phone, zero audio. Plug in the head phones now I get audio. My phone is not on mute. the volume is all the way up. I can play songs and they come out the speakers loudly. when I type I hear the sounds come out of my speakers so I know my iphones audio is working just not for my app with out headphones plugged in. Anyone found a solution?
It sounds like I'm doing the same thing you are doing. I have an array of audio clips and I'm playing one randomly from the array.

Its not a Unity bug, you just have to unmute speakers for your iPad. To do so, double tap the home button, slide to the right and on the left side there will be the "unmute" button.
mine is unmated, but still the problem , works on ipod but not on ipad
This question has been answered for iPad but not for iPhone. The combination mute/rotate lock switch is the issue on the iPad. On my iPhone 4s music plays from the speakers from other apps but no sound from my Unity app. Plug in headphones and you can hear my app and the music from the other app. Any ideas?
