Editor Camera Lag

I am having some problems with the editor camera in Unity. Whenever I rotate or pan the camera there is a delay in the movement, and the camera will keep moving after I let go of the mouse. The camera is also jumpy when panning around. I am using the latest version of Unity Pro. I recently just switched computers from an older XP computer to a more powerful Windows 7 computer. I never had any trouble on the XP computer though. Could switching computers be the problem or is there a setting to change this?

Computer Specs:

Intel Pentium Dual Core E5800 @ 3.20 GHz

4 GB RAM

Intel G41 Express Chipset

If somebody still has problem with it, heres what worked for me: top of scene window are icons of ‘sun’ and ‘picture’ (under which are options for fog, skybox, etc). Just tick everything ACTIVE. It will make WSAD smooth again.

Sounds like a driver issue.
I’d suggest updating your video and sound card drivers to the latest versions.

You also don’t list your video card, make sure you have a dedicated video card.

Same problem here, but only when rotating or using WASD, Panning just works. i remember installing different unity versions and never had this problem.

I5 2500K

8 GB RAM

EVGA 460 SE

GeForce 304.79 Driver BETA

EDIT: It doesn’t happen if the game is running and I switch back to scene view. Strange.

I know this is an older thread, but it’s one of the first results when you google this issue- so I’m going to post my answer here. I had to revert my EVGA GTX 980’s overclock profile back to default and restart Unity to fix the problem.

[Edit: I solved it by clicking on the picture icon to the right of the sun icon near the top, to bring up the drop-down menu under the picture icon, and then disable all options and then re-enable all of them. That seemed to work for me. Some people were just saying to click on stuff in that area without specifying that you need to go through the above specific steps, as one person posted at: https://forum.unity.com/threads/scene-view-navigation-with-wasd-very-laggy.380100/#post-3598538]
– original note –
I have the same problem, mostly when rotating or moving while in the scene view, and also sometimes in game mode. It wasn’t happening at all just a couple days ago, and I didn’t add much since then. My CPU and memory usage isn’t excessive, Unity just freezes up for a half-minute or longer every time I try to rotate the view even a few degrees, even after having looked all around the same area for some time (which means there isn’t anything for it to load). It’s almost unusable, and restarting Unity didn’t help.
