I am using windows 2000. I had a version of unity that ran and worked on this pc. a certain game repeatedly failed to load and the suggestion was uninstall unity and re download and reinstall. I did up to the point that the reinstall of the new download fails saying only runs on XP and higher. 2000 is NT tech. Is there any access to prior version?

Maybe its because you had update it to 3.5. If not tell your Unity3 Version.
Sorry for delaying in seeing your comment Felipe. I was trying to update to the most current version. I have finally gotten back to 2.6.1.31223 and it at least installs on windows 2000. I am trying to dig through and find the actual last version that will install and run on this operating system.

Why not change your operating system? :P
an OS change means a PC hardware change. Right at the moment that isn't something I'm willing to spend the money on. this pc does everything i need it to do very well, except run windows 7.
Straight from google ...

Be aware that your projects may not open in an older version (depends on what version they were saved in.
Thank you. I did try to search but was unable to get these results. Thank you again!
Upgrading your PC to XP will solve your issues. For most PC's it should not require a hardware upgrade. I have upgraded a few old PC's from 2000 to XP with not issues.
