Which animation is currently playing on a GameObject

So here's the thing, I have a GameObject with several animations, and I need to store which animation is playing in a ArrayList (this will be done 24 times a second), but I am having trouble identifying which animation is currently playing on my GameObject. How can that be done? How can I identify the animation currently playing?
