Hello, I noticed that upon importing Autodesk Maya .ma or .mb files, Unity creates a few files in the Temp directory of the project, that contain the MEL (Maya's scripting language) commands for the import:
I was wondering if there is a way to modify these files. Per default, Unity replaces them every time an import is initiated and all my changes are deleted. thank you!

The import settings for a model ought to be set in the inspector within the Unity editor itself. As for changing default import settings, I believe that may be a wishlist feature. I see. That's a pity. Well thanks for the reply and I'll be looking for another workaround!

I actually saw a post yesterday that stated Unity Pro has an Import Settings dialog. I can't confirm for sure as I don't have it yet, and I don't see Import Settings in the feature comparison (although there is probably much that isn't on there). Nevertheless, thought it worth mentioning.
