How to drag out alpha blend shader effect?

Hello I am making a wave effect for a game. I want the SPRAY from the wave to look like it is at first strong and then fades out gradually.

I have a particle effect in place which does this to an extent and I noticed when I added a the shader called "Mobile/Particles/Alpha Blended" it makes the texture blend out nicely however it does it quite quickly. How do I drag out the alpha blend effect?

I'd like to thank you all for your help. I used http://3dbuzz.com to learn more about the particle animator. I used the particle animator to make the particles blend smoother. If you use the colour animator and change the alphas from (0-4) The o means the start of the particle when its just 'born' and the (4) is the colour and transparency of the ending of the particles life cycle. SO if you reduce the alpha channel for 0 and 4 and a correct balance between them you get a smootehr blend and transition. Thank you all again for the help
