I've read alot of posts on water creation effects, etc. My needs are fairly basic and I don't think I need to use a shader. My target is iPhone so I think an animated texture of sorts would be best. My perspective would be top down, approx 1000 foot or higher up in the air. I'd be looking down on top of the water from above where boats would move around so I need to create a nice water effect, like white caps on the ocean surface. How do you a create a multilayer texture, where you can move the layers slowly and alter alpha back and forth to simulate this? I'm guessing I would create a basic water image, then a foamy texture to move back and forth and blend to simulate wave caps, etc. It would have to loop. Can you use UV animation or do you have to use a script or what? The other question would be do I make one huge plane, and tile the material or do I make one small plane and script them into a large surface? Any explanation on if I could also use the iphone water shader would be helpful. A reflection aspect might be cool to see the ships reflection in the water but I don't know if that is possible to create and combine materials like this for iphone.
