After completing my first Unity3D project, which I've enjoyed immensely even though it was a type of game that I don't really like, I've now decided on making an old-school JRPG in the tune of Final Fantasy I through V, utilizing graphics similar to the older ones.
Now the trouble that I'm in at this point is the lack of specific documentation about 2D JRPGs. The only tutorial I've found, RPG related was that of a 3D Hack N' Slash RPG. Thinking that I could at least learn some scripting from there, I found out that it was in C#, a language that I've never worked in before.
Long story short, what I want to ask is: Should I find another game engine to carry out this project? If (hopefully) not (because I really like this game engine) can you point me to some tutorials on this subject (or at least those that involve scripting for save/character/rpg systems)?
Thank you for your concern, Neten

Take a look at this.
This should at least cover the graphics. Thanks.
