Alpha mask without multiple renders

I need a way to overlap an alpha mask to the world geometry that makes only some of the geometry with higher Z disappear. Note that the mask is actually a texture mapped onto geometry.

I have made an scheme of what should look like:

How could I do that without using muliple renders? It's for iOS and I have tried that and the frame rate is too low.
