Yes, you can use a texture on a plane (quad). Technically this is still 3D, because Unity is a 3D engine, but it will look 2D, particularly if you use an orthogonal camera.

Up to 2 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 524.3 kB each and 1.0 MB total.
