Internal collisions

I have this car in my scene, there are box colliders for the chassis and wheel colliders for the wheels, they overlap, will the wheel colliders collide with the box colliders in the chassis?
(they are children of the same gameobject)

No, they won't collide with the chassis box colliders. They work by casting a ray downwards, so they only collide with objects that are directly under the wheels.
