How to distribute leaves to only upper branches of a tree (leaving lower branches bare)?

I am using the Tree Editor to create some tree assets. I would like the lower branches to be traversable by the player. For the sake of visibility and ease of navigation, I need to minimize the amount of leaves on the lower branches. At the moment the leaf coverage is quite thick (desirable for the upper branches) which makes visibility on the lower branches very difficult. I need the player to be able to see where they are going so that they can plan their route from branch to branch.

I have played around with the leaf settings but I cannot work out how to lower the leaf density in the lower branches but keep the density thick in the upper branches. Is there specific settings in the tree editor which can achieve this?

Make 2 branch nodes from main node and distribute one curve lower than other, then make leaf node out of each one and set one to high freq. and one to low.
